Nach 3 Jahren wird es mal wieder Zeit für eine neues NB und mein altes M6Ne darf endlich in den verdienten Ruhestand. Nachdem ich mit dem M6Ne sehr zufrieden war hab ich was ähnliches gesucht und bin beim ASUS V1S gelandet. Nachdem ich aber unter Linux arbeite würd mich interessieren ob auch alles unterstützt wird... -> Hat schon wer Erfahrung mit dem V1S unter Linux (ideal Debian)? * Lüfter (beim M6Ne im Office Betrieb ja meistens aus...) * Lautsprecher (beim M6Ne immerhin akzeptabel) * gibts den uDVI Ausgang jetzt wirklich oder war der nur ein Werbegag?!?! * Kann mir wer sagen was für eine HDD verbaut ist (Seagate ?!) * Kann mir wer sagen was für eine ODD verbaut ist (Lightscribe ?!) Geht die Hardware?, vorallem fraglich sind: * HDMI * PCI Express * Webcam * Cardreader * Fingerprintsensor Man findet zwar am Netz einiges aber unter Linux gibts noch nicht wirklich viel... Hab gelesen man sollt auf jeden Fall einen neueres System zwecks Unterstützung verwenden. Danke schon mal... |

Hey, das gleiche Problem der NB-Wahl habe ich auch. Ich finde, dass Asus bereits vor 3 Jahren zu viel Produktdifferenzierung gemacht hat und dass das in den letzten Jahren eher noch schlimmer geworden ist. Ich finde übrigens F3SE und F3SR ganz nett. Es hat ziemlich lange gedauert, bis auf dem guten alten M6Ne alles unter Suse Linux lief. Vermutlich wird es bei neuen Modellen nicht anders sein. Super!, erstmal danke für die Info, wirft nur ein paar Fragen auf: * was ist am rtc-dev besser als am rtc modul? * warum verwendest du ndiswrapper, sollte doch eigentlich mit den nativen Treibern auch (besser) funktionieren: http://intellinuxwireless.org/ * schon mal tv-out & HDMI probiert, oder andersrum gefragt: Ist der nvidea Treiber brauchbarer als der fglrx Treiber für die ati Chipsets (stabiler?!)?! * hast du mehr Infos zur Hardware? (wegen camera, cardreader,...) $ lspci -v $ lshw $ lsusb -v * was hältst du vom Display (verglichen zum M6Ne?) * was hältst du von den Lautsprechern (verglichen zum M6Ne?) * SPDIF ausprobiert?! |

wie im blog beschrieben - camera wird nicht gelistet in lsusb. ich denke das diese entweder an einem eigenen usb controller hängt für den es keine linuxtreiber gibt (GL860) oder, dass die cam irgendwie virtuell eingesteckt werden muss. beim BT Modul ist es nämlich genauso - lsusb zeigt es nicht an, erst wenn ich BT per hardwarebutton aktiviere und die blaue led angeht, kann ich es in lsusb sehen (BT geht einwandfrei) - Display ist besser als bei meinem M6N (kontrast, auflösung usw) die 1680er auflösung ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber wenn mans mal hat gibt man es nicht mehr her. 15,4" ist dafür aber echt das limit! - Gerät kommt mit ohne akku schwerer vor als das M6N ohne akku - lautsprecher muss ich mal direkt vergleichen, das M6N ist aber eine multimediamaschine gewesen damals. ich denke das könnte schwer werden für das v1s ;) spdif habe ich nicht getestet. nutze es nur für business, gleiches gilt für tv-out und hdmi ich bin unter linux von nvideo überzeugt. ati ist hier nicht so mein fall. ndiswrapper verwende ich im moment, da man für die nativen treiber am besten den 2.6.22 kernel installieren sollte. Mac8xxxx is da schon integriert. (habe ich mit kanotix thorhammer kurz "getestet" - also mehr erkannt das wlan0 aktiv ist - dort hat auch die verstellung der displayhelligkeit geklappt, evtl scripte übernehmen) allerdings muss ich dir recht geben, bei einem 700mb iso download ist das V1S stehen geblieben nach 50MB - kann an meiner spielerei an modulen gelegen haben oder am ndiswrapper. werde ich nochmal testen. ich werde die original treiber testen sobald ich zeit habe. Ich arbeite im Moment zuhause noch am M6N, da ich am ipw2200 mein WPA aktiv habe, über ndiswrapper am V1S habe ich nur mit WEP in einem anderen Netz arbeiten können. Zuhause habe ich kein WPA connect bekommen, wird allerdings nur eine kleinigkeit sein sorry für die magere ausbeute an antworten, aber ich habe das gerät freitag morgen bekommen, kurz den blogeintrag gemacht - war dann das wochenende unterwegs und habe unter der woche recht viele projekte in der firma am laufen. ich bleibe jedoch am ball und werde den blog erweiten. evtl gibts morgen schon die ausgabe von lspci usw. Habe die nativen Treiber nach einem Kernelupdate eingebunden: http://yaita.blogspot.com/2007/09/iwlwifi-modul-fr-kernel-2622-auf-debian.html - Lautsprecher sind bei weitem nicht so gut wie beim M6B00N! - webcam läuft nicht - authentec fingerprintsensor läuft nicht beim rtc modul muss man hwclock -directisa aufrufen - das neuere rtc-dev braucht das nicht. hdmi kann ich nicht testen Gruß Andreas editiert von: NetZwerg, 18.09.2007, 21:01 Uhr |

Kleiner Nachtrag: Sollte vielleicht noch erwähnen, daß ich die US-Version V1S-B1 habe (Glare Type Display, US-Tastertur, 2,4GHz CPU). Aufgemotzt mit 200GB ES.2 Seagate HDD und 2x2GB Kingston RAM. * uDVI hats übrigens nicht, dafür HDMI * OOD kann DVD-RAM und Lightscribe * WLAN mit iwl4965: Tunable channels: 11 802.11bg, 13 802.11a channels mit WPA2 unter 2.6.24 out of the box allerdings noch kein Mode n!!!
